Young changemakers across the worlds receive award in memory of Princess Diana at virtual ceremony.

  • Link to watch the live event on 1 July 15:00-16:00 BST: 2022dianaawards.eventbrite.co.uk/

  • Young people, aged 9-25, honoured with The Diana Award for going above and beyond in their daily lives to create and sustain positive change.

  • Virtual ceremony sees support from a host of celebrities and surprise guests to honour young people with the most prestigious accolade a young person can receive for their social action of humanitarian work around the world.

  • Virtual event coincides with The Diana Award’s release of the 2022 Roll of Honour – listing all the year’s recipients: diana-award.org.uk/roll-of-honour-2022.

Today over 180 inspirational children and young people will be presented with the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts – The Diana Award. The virtual ceremony marks twenty-fifth anniversary of Princess Diana’s death.

Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, the Award is given out by the charity of the same name and has the support of both her sons, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex.

These exceptional young people have demonstrated their ability to inspire and mobilise their own generation to service their communities through campaigning, volunteering, fundraising, fighting injustice or overcoming extreme life challenges. Although their causes and backgrounds are varied, what they all have in common is that they are changing their communities and the world.

“We warmly congratulate our new Diana Award recipients from the UK and across the world who are changemakers for their generation. These young people demonstrate that young people have the power to change the world; a belief also held by Princess Diana. It is especially poignant as we remember Princess Diana twenty-five years on. We know by receiving this honour they will inspire more young people to get involved in their communities and begin their own changemaking journey.”

Tessy Ojo CBE, Chief Executive of The Diana Award

British Airways and Avast Foundation, supporters of the award programme, joined to congratulate the new Diana Award recipients.

“The young people honoured as recipients of The Diana Award are already inspirational leaders and role models. They demonstrate through their service to community and their passions for justice and equality that a better world is possible. We are proud to partner with the Diana Award to recognise their achievements and to inspire more young people to follow in their footsteps as conscientious global citizens.”

Shane Ryan, Global Executive Director, Avast Foundation

“At British Airways we want to play our part in making a better, more connected world for everyone to live in, supporting communities in the UK and globally. We are proud to continue to support the great work of The Diana Award, which champions the next generation of young leaders, driving positive change.”

Carrie Harris, Director of Sustainability at British Airways
