Impact Hacking: Moonshot Platform Secures $600,000 USD from Avast Foundation to Support Next-Gen Social Innovators

Partnership to Establish Awards, Summit and Global Network to Reach 1 Million Youth Leaders

The Moonshot Platform, a digital movement led by internationally renowned creative Yemi A.D., plans to create a global network to address the most pressing issues and threats in the world today through young, talented innovators called impact hackers. Thanks to the Avast Foundation, the project, which was originally created in response to the impact of the pandemic crisis, is transforming into an international platform with the ambition to reach up to one million people from different countries, including the USA, and enable them to work together to make the world a better place.

The Moonshot Platform is a digital movement that helps innovators and young leaders find solutions to the problems of today's society across industries. It does so through unique virtual conferences and has so far connected start-ups and non-profits with investors, philanthropists and partners in its Moonshot Impact Gallery to accelerate their growth.

This is the first time it has been presented in this new global context and with such an extensive level of support offered to those who join the programme. It has set itself 3 key objectives:

  • Identify and accelerate the growth of organizations with significant potential for social innovation
  • Expand international cooperation with the possibility of exchanging experiences among the younger generation.
  • To build alliances among a select group of future leaders, accelerate their personal development and ensure meaningful partnerships across continents.

The founders and organizers of the Moonshot Platform, led by Yemi A.D., want to achieve these goals through a variety of activities. Selected leaders will be able to participate in camps focused on personal development to support their business plans. They will also get the opportunity to win Moonshot Awards in several categories for their contribution in areas such as sustainable development, social innovation through digital tools or education. The culmination of it all will be the Moonshot Festival, which will connect industry leaders with hundreds of exceptional personalities and speakers with other attendees, with a series of inspiring videos created on site featuring a new perspective of the Moonshot Awards finalists.

Speaking in numbers, over the next two years, the Moonshot Platform plans to reach up to 1 million young innovators aged 15 to 30 from 4 continents around the world, find 200 Moonshot Awards aspirants, and give away over $100,000 to finalists at their launch.

"Together with the Avast Foundation, we have decided to embark on a journey that will help us face real challenges while meeting our long-term goals through young people and their innovations. I believe that it is the youngest, unencumbered and free-thinking generation that has the best chance to participate in building a better future," said Yemi A.D.

"The Moonshot Platform, in partnership with the Avast Foundation, is an innovative way to draw society's attention to the biggest issues of our time. By bringing together people who care about building a better world, we help accelerate the results and impact of their work," said Shane Ryan, Global Executive Director of the Avast Foundation, which decided to support the project with a generous $600,000 to fulfill its philosophy of bringing meaningful change and helping create a world where technology plays a positive role in building and sustaining communities.
